Born in Kuala Lumpur, Isaac graduated from UCSI University with a Bachelor Degree granted by University of Newcastle, Australia.
Isaac’s first musical Green Tea was written together with two inspiring composers, San Weng Onn and Wong Shen Vee in 2002. Isaac was the music director for both production in 2002 and 2003 and the musical received a great response from audiences and critics.
Upon graduation from UCSI, Isaac and Weng Onn were commissioned by Sidang Injil Borneo Kuala Lumpur to compose another stage musical Drunk Before Dawn which was premiered in 2004 and subsequently re-staged in 2006 at Kota Kinabalu.
Isaac went to France in 2008 to explore new ideas for his compositions. He’s currently studying composition at Conservatoire de Rayonnnement Régional de Montpellier Agglomération with Christophe de Coudenhove.
Having the privilege to work with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in the MPO Composer Forumplus, his recent work 50% was premiered in June 2009 and Gambaran Tarian Singa (A Lion Dance Impression) was premiered in February 2010. His notable works include: Ride for orchestra, My Color Pencils for trumpet, trombone and piano, Autumn Thoughts for choir, Green Tea Concert Suite for orchestra etc…
